Our Little Explorers begin to develop an interest in reading and writing through learning phonics and tricky words in a fun and vibrant way. We nurture a love of reading by sharing stories and having a go at writing relating to their interests.

As the children progress, they are given opportunities to make their writing more interesting and develop their understanding of text in a variety of ways.

Sessions are tailored to the individual children taking into account different learning styles. Opportunities for outdoor learning and particularly practical activities is at the core of our workshops. We believe that being active is fundamental in becoming an effective learner and encourage children to participate in diverse activities including playing games, role-play, songs, problem-solving and movement skills.

We love to explore mathematical concepts using concrete, practical resources which gives the children a better understanding of abstract ideas. These tools can be used to help children test their own mathematical ideas and challenge potential misconceptions.

Imagination in children is vital to successful learning. One of our aims is to enrich the capacity of imagination as children learn in all aspects. We focus on themes and ideas that matter to the children to build their motivation to learn. This helps them take ownership over their own learning journey.

Our creative activities allow children to delve into imaginative worlds and escape into alternative realities developing independence skills and positive learning attitudes.
